Leave… and Become a Blessing

“In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)

Peoples of the earth,

God said to Abram: “Leave your country.”

He does not begin with a promise. He begins with a departure.

Leave what confines you. Leave what only comforts you. Leave what prevents you from loving more widely.

Abram is not given a map. He is given a word. And he goes.

Peoples of the world, peace always begins with an inner departure:

leaving inherited fear, leaving borders carved into memory, leaving resentments passed down through generations.

God promises: “In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

This is not a blessing for one people alone. It is a blessing for all peoples.

Election is not privilege. It is responsibility. You are chosen to bless.

Then comes the mountain.

Jesus takes Peter, James, and John and leads them apart. He is transfigured.

His face becomes light. His garments become radiance.

The disciples glimpse what was hidden: glory at the heart of humility.

They want to remain there, to build tents, to freeze the moment.

But light is not given to escape the world. It is given to transform it.

A voice resounds: “This is my beloved Son: listen to him.”

Listen. This is the secret.

Listen instead of imposing. Listen instead of accusing. Listen instead of dominating.

Peoples of the world, if you truly listened, wars would fall silent.

The Transfiguration reveals this: the light is already present, but it is veiled by fear.

And Jesus says: “Rise, and do not be afraid.”

Peace is born when fear no longer governs.

Abraham leaves. The disciples ascend. Then they descend.

Light is not an escape. It is a mission.

We are called to come down from our spiritual mountains to bless the earth.

Inner reset phrase:
I leave what confines me, I listen to the light, and I become a blessing.

Then the families of the earth will be blessed. Then peace will cease to be a dream and will become a path.
