Peoples of the world,
It is easy to accuse the times,
governments, generations,
other nations, other camps—
as if violence always came from somewhere else.
But today’s Word goes lower,
to the place where no one can lie for long:
the inner choice.
The Lord has placed before you water and fire.
And He has not chained you.
He has not programmed you for godlessness.
He has commanded no one to be wicked.
Peoples of the world,
life and death are set before human beings,
and one or the other is given
according to their choice.
This line is a mirror.
It does not crush: it reveals.
It does not despair: it makes us responsible.
For we live in a century
that wants peace without conversion,
light without truth,
forgiveness without justice,
brotherhood without demands.
Yet Jesus does not come to abolish:
he comes to fulfill.
He does not erase the Law
so we can drift without a compass.
He brings it into the heart—
where wars begin
before they become weapons.
You have heard: “You shall not murder.”
But he says:
the anger that burns against your brother
is already a fire.
You have heard: “You shall not commit adultery.”
But he says:
the gaze that possesses
has already violated the other.
You have heard: “You shall keep your oaths.”
But he says:
let your speech be simple,
straight, clean:
yes—yes,
no—no.
Anything more comes from the Evil One.
Peoples of the world,
you want treaties— and they are necessary.
But know this:
no treaty will hold
if the heart keeps lying.
For lies are fire.
Resentment is fire.
Humiliation is fire.
The accusing finger is fire.
And fire spreads.
But there is a stronger water:
the water of reconciliation,
the water of truthful speech,
the water of humble justice,
the water of forgiveness
that does not excuse evil
but breaks its chain.
Jesus says:
if you bring your gift to the altar
and remember that your brother has something against you,
leave your gift.
Go first and be reconciled.
Peoples of the world,
here is the most hidden revolution:
God prefers peace made
to prayer performed.
God prefers a heart that rises again
to a ritual that protects itself.
And Paul warns us:
the wisdom that saves
is not the wisdom of the powerful.
It is a hidden wisdom,
prepared before the ages,
revealed to the little ones
by the Spirit.
Peoples of the world,
world peace begins
with a worldwide choice repeated
in millions of consciences:
between water and fire,
between pride and simplicity,
between anger and gentleness,
between possession and respect.
Inner reset phrase:
I choose water, not fire: I let peace govern my heart.
Walk in the Lord’s law—
not as under a yoke,
but under a light:
the light that makes humanity free
and the world inhabitable.
